While reading a book on Paramacharya ( Moments of life time) i came across this incident . When some one asked about the meaning of the line yanta bhanta nishanta in a Thyagaraja kriti . Paramacharya replied that yanta means 'ra' ( ra follows ya) , bhanta means 'ma' (same logic) & nishanta means 'chandra' & the words mean ramachandra.
What is the kriti. Are there any other such usages and what is such techinque refered as in grammar or music

**Notes**
__Charanam 1__ : __AgamAnta__ – Though this has been translated as vEdAnta, there is some doubt; normally upaniSads are called nigamAnta.
__Charanam 1__ : __antakAntaka - Refers to the story of mArkaNDEya - Siva saved mArkaNDEya from the clutches of death (yama). tirukkadavur is kShEtra where this episode is stated to have taken place. Please visit the website – http://www.chennaionline.com/toursntrav ... avur01.asp
__Charanam 1__ : __yAnta bhAnta niSAnta__ – The word ‘yAnta’ is not available in dictionary. As per a website, Kanchi Mahaswami Shri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati was approached in this regard. The explanation given by Him is startling. These words are stated to be appearing the SrI rAma temple at madurAntakaM (near Chengalpattu).
‘yAnta’ – ya+anta – end of ‘ya’ is ‘ra’;
‘bhAnta’ – bha+anta – end of ‘bha’ is ‘ma’;
‘niSAnta’ – niSA+anta – end of night – daybreak;
‘rAma, the destroyer of darkness’ is the meaning.
Please visit the website - http://www.ambaa.org/archives/frm00199.html
__Charanam 2__ : __pAdAravinda__ – this is how it is given in all books other than that of TKG, wherein it is given as __padAravinda__.
__Charanam 2__ : __sad-bhakta__ – this is how it is given in all books other than that of TKG, wherein it is given as __sad-bhakti__. As __sad-bhakta__ is the appropriate word here, the same has been adopted.
__Charanam 2__ : __nandaka__ – Tallapaka Annamacharya - the great telugu poet and devotee of Lord Venkateswara (15th century) is considered to be the incarnation of the nandaka sword of the Lord. Please visit the website for more details – http://www.svasa.org/annamacharya1.html
__Charanam 3__ : __gaja rAja rakShaka – ibha rAja vandana__ – both these refer to gajEndra. As there is no variation in any of the books, there seems to be no scope for different meanings.

Re: Yanta Bhanta Nishanta
My! ennE rAmanaruL! How great rAmA's grace!
ParamAcAryA's revelation noted by Govindan and brought to us in his magnum opus--rather great service to music, a work like tyAgarAja vAibhavam
The time that he lovingly spent on this meticulous work! Our admiration for him for all his work is boundless...
Just like you PB, finding Rajumds's old post on this as well!
