Re: R Vedavalli, Naada Inbam, 25/Dec/2016
It was so good that it hurt a bit that it had to finish.
My "fanboy" status is well known, but I was stunned by this concert.
A couple of people asked me which was the better, this, or the MA concert a couple of days before. "Better" is the wrong word, but, for me at least, certainly there is a difference. The Ragasudha experience is personal, whereas the MA experience is so much more formal, and the artists so much further away, even from the front row. She bridges that gap better than many, but RS Hall is... so much more direct.
Within the deep and wonderful seriousness of her music, she seemed to be having a lot of fun with the other musicians too. There were so many exchanges on the stage, and so many smiles and twinkling of eyes. It all added to the magic.

Thanks to parivadini for the concert. But why was it initially unlisted? I happened to have a link from the morning and could catch it. I think RV's school of handling mukhari is something! BTW - was Rama Ravi also recorded and is there an unlisted link?

#10 is from jayadEva's ashtapadhi
#11 is dAsara nindisa bEda (dAsarai nindikka vEndAm?)
One doesn't review the concerts of Rama Ravi, R Vedavalli & Suguna Varadachari (slotted for today in RS Hall), et al. One just enjoys and basks in the magic, also spelled as music. And wonders which of the current crop will go to occupy that position to provide continuity.
