The most appealing voice in carnatic music , in my opinion , is that of Sangita Kalanidhi Smt R Vedavalli.

There are many facets to an appealing voice, like power/throw, innate melody, modulation, range, enunciation etc. Various artistes have different capabilities in each of these areas. So may be a spreadsheet is called for

I do believe that voice production technique, as learnt by professional performing artists all over the world is very vital. It is not just that the performer will sound better for us --- it is also, and perhaps more important, that they will use their own bodies more efficiently and keep their voices in better health.

How about this one. How many even have a clue how to use what, next to their voice, is the most important tool of their trade? I'd put the answer to that at an optimistic, approximate.... zero. When they do do the right things it is matter of happy chance.
All aspiring stage artists should have a basic understanding of microphone use and the basics of how the audio system works and what the sound guys can, and cannot do. At a minimum, they should know to sing into the microphone, and what the effect of distance from it is.
I'm not talking about a course in audio production (although it wouldn't go amiss!): I'm talking about what any competent, real professional sound engineer could explain to them in an afternoon or so.
Instrumentalists too, of course.

Sound Engineer should give 5 minutes training before performance to all musicians how to hold microphone and how one should face the microphone. For sure musicians are not sound specialist.

Previous generations probably benefited from spending more time in the studio, where the engineers and production staff might not have felt that pandering to them, rather than telling them what to do and how to do it, was necessary.
Not all, though: a recently-late-and-great was a horrendous fiddler with the mic on stage, and I'm some of his CDs are unlistenable due to someone having been able to keep their hands off the effects.
