Lec-dem on Gamaka Box by Ramesh Vinayakam

For the ready reference of forumites, I copy below the brief report of the lecdem which I attended (and already posted in the original topic) as I feel many might have missed it.

Gamaka Box is a highly innovative facility for musicians to understand and apply gamakas in carnatic music with total fidelity to the swaras/swarastaanas of scales. Gamaka connotes much more than the commonly used term 'oscillation' and Ramesh Vinayakam has painstakingly developed a system of notating gamakas ( if I can put it so) which will be sort of a graphic representation of the swaras involved.

On 16.04.2017, the lecdem was well presented by Ramesh (who is thorough with different genres of music) with audio visual aids. It would have been great if more number of forumites could turn up. Perhaps the presence of noted violinist VS Narasimhan more than compensated for this. The Nagewarans, Vidwan R Suryaprakash, myself ,CRama and a coupleof dedicated members of RV's team constituted the rest.

Sri Nageswaran introduced Sri RV in the beginning. VSN gave expert comments at the end. The interaction session was naturally taken over by Suryaprakash and me with RV explaining the finer points in detail.

Video clippings of a group of foreigners playing Vaataapi ganapatim with the aid of the new concept (they had the notations in gamaka box form in front of them) proved interesting.

For the benefit of rasikas forumites I have requested RV to provide a link to be attached in this thread for better understanding of the innovation.

Are we getting recording of this presentation - nageswaran sir . Ace Singer SP Balasubramanyam is all praise for Ramesh Vainayakam but I have no clue on this gamaka creation box.
