If you can read Thamizh click on

If you can't, let me know I will refer you to a site which has Roman script version.

Would appreciate if anyone can give word by word meaning. Only some words I can understand. Or is there a site for this?

Suji,
This is a very deceptively simple verse: it enumerates the various lIlAs of murugA, and asks, 'during all of these, you only revealed one of your 6 faces, pray enlighten us on how you became the 6 faced one/alternately, pray tell us how we can see you in your 6-faced glory''

mayil Eri viLaiyADum mukham ondrE = when you played and frolicked (viLaiyADum) on your peacock (mayil Eri) you had only one (ondru) face mukham

ISaruDan gnyAna mozhi pESum mukham ondrE = when you preached the meaning of the praNava (gnyAna mozhi pESum) to your father (ISan = Siva), you had only one face

kUrum aDiyArgaL vinai tIrtha mukham ondrE = when your devotees (aDiyAr) complained to you (kUrinar), and you destroyed (tIrtha) their troubles (vinai), you had only one face

kunrurava vEl vAngi ninra mukham ondrE = when you accepted the spear (vEl) from your mother and stood atop pazhani, you had only one face

mArupaDu sUranai vadaitta mukham ondrE = when you killed sUrapadman and his hordes, you had only one face

vaLLiyai maNam uNara vanda mukham ondrE = when you came to test vaLLi (or determine the strength of her love for you - maNam uNara...this is also rendered as maNam puriya = marry) you had only one face...

Arumukham AnaporuL nI aruLal vEnDum = You need to enlighten us on how you became the six faced one

Adi aruNAchalam amarnda perumALE = Oh God who resides atop the aruNAchala hill....

....
It is "valliyai maNam puNara" i.e., to get married to vaLLi. "puNardal" normally means "combine or join". I have not seen a version which says "uNara" or "puriya"

The URL has some extra characters. The corrected URL is:
http://www.kaumaram.com/thiru/nt9999.html

You have both the Thamizh and Roman script versions at this site.
