Chitraveena Nada Jnana Mani award was presented by Sangita Kalanidhi M Chandrasekharan to Sangita Kalanidhi designate N Ravikiran.

*It was nice to hear the Todi Varnam 'Eranapai'which is not commonly rendered these days.

* So was Neelambari (Alapana as well as swarapratara). Transition from Pallavi to Anupallavi was so natural and spontaneous.

*Manasuloni was rendered in Varamu in line with T Brinda school.(though my personal vote would be for Hindolam!). The rounds of Swaraprastara in 'poruttham' mode were real goodies.

*Purvikalyani was indeed wholesome in Alapana, kriti and a 'kanakku rich' swaraprastara.

* Javali in Kapi (happily rare one ) and the robust Tillana (own composition : Mudra- 'Ravisasi') completed the fare.

*Accompanying artists were in their elements and performed excellently well. Tani was brief and beautiful.

*The Chitraveena of 5.5 pitch in the hands of Ravikiran provided a virtual Naadaprapancham.

*An august audience led by M Chandrasekharan, Chitraveena Narasimhan, several musicians and rasikas and the 'bale' 'bhesh' enlivened the atmosphere.

Season 2017 had arrived.

Ravikiran was the pied piper on that day, and the audiences were just mesmerized by his mellifluous music

Yes.I heard such a concert in KGS almost a decade back.
But that was sort of thematic where he performed with many people.
There was a review in rasikas.
The theme was some thing related to spirituality with music.

The violinist is Vidushi Akkarai Subhalakshmi, not Subbulakshmi. Can it be corrected?
