I was wondering if I could get the meaning of the Anandabhairavi Pada Varnam - Pankaja Lochanira by Muttaiah Bhagavathar. The lyrics are below :-

Smt. Savitri - I think this composition is written in 'praise' of the King, Rama Varma. As Kings of tiruvanantapuram, they considered themselves as devotees/servants of padmanAbha (their kula deivam) and called themselves padmanAbha dAsa. So, I think the anupallavi refers to the king. i.e., pankajanAbha bhakta shirOmaNI bAla rAma varma citrOdaya nrpamaNi, refers to the king (nRpamaNi), bAla rAma varma as the most eminent of the devotees of pankajanAbha.

Thank you all for quenching my thirst to know the meaning. I asked a lot of my Telugu speaking friends but couldn't get meaning. I admit that the word "pankajanabha" did make me think of The Royal Family but didn't ponder too much upon that.And then someone pointed out the Rama varma bit. I think the Bhagavathar here pulled a Dikshitar.

The fundamental thing about me is that Anandabhairavi is a raga closest to my heart and listening to a song such as this and not knowing the meaning is a disgrace. When I hear Anandabhairavi, I think of Ambal smiling and it makes me so happy . Thank you all !
