Please suggest some nice rare kritis by famous composers. For eg, picked up Sri Vighna rajam bhaje "from Aruna Sairam's concert. Eti janma VaraLi raaga also I heard and liked a lot. Hameer Kalyani" Sharadhe Karunanidhe "also is wonderful. Kindly suggest nice rare kritis.

Also, can you please let me know any other kritis that are often sung at concerts.. I feel delighted if I listen to a kriti I never heard before and really like the song. @1-> I would rather hunt for the Best 'rare'. Luckily, however, sometimes, they converge .. The following list may be the best ever kru'this is CM.
based on the confluence of many essential criteria... like the theme, the raagam,composer, lyrics, rendering and bhaavam...It is a bit difficult to concur by people who are not advaithins. and oriented more towards layam , lyrics and thaandavam than music.

It does not actually matter if the kriti is rare or famous . If the tune is lilting and appealing , definitely it will find a place in our hearts .

Thanks for so many tracks.. Actually what strikes me the most is the raaga and the lyrics.. For eg. Kaamavardhini raaga "Ninne nera namminanura", I love both the raaga and the lyrics.. What a composition by the great Tyagaraja!! Putting full faith in the Lord Rama and that too expressed in a beautiful raaga.. It makes me forget the world while listening to such music.. Also, "Eti janma" is quite perfect specially for my liking and situation.. And the raaga is so deep, specially I heard this on Violin.. Wow.. I am a very amateur in Carnatic music but somehow can connect to it(dunno how though).. Thanks again for sharing a list of songs.

( the meaning of the lyrics may be good nevertheless). Thyagaraja swami gave great many 'vayppaadu' kruthis. I am having in mind, his seethapathe; The same composer gave sujanajeebvana in the same ragam! I prefer the latter. Not only that. Who sings and what age and with what tonal purity is equally important. ./ Still, to each , his taste.

i am all admiration for your avid pursuit of good CM. It is a bit difficult to explain what I mean by vayppadu compositions. You can easily understand by yourself, if you listen to both . 'seethapatha' and 'sujanajeevana'. Best compositions are mostly very slow paced and in such compositions, there is almost no place for percussion artistes. Violin may perhaps add the musical value when unobtrusive, After all violin was introduced by Dikshithar around 1700 but Purandharadasa predated by nearly 200 years. Superb!! Dunno why 2 more artists were singing along with the main artist.. Sometimes they were lagging one another. Nevertheless, great performance!!

Very true. Kalapramanam of a krithi is much important to sound better.
But these krithis, I shall call as 'converted vaaypaadu' krithis. Addition of breakneck sangathis might be a reason.
Also, an observation. Majority of these krithis are in the janya ragam of mela 28 or 29!!
