Grand concert is in progress at the Music Academy by Sri Ravikiran, Kumari. Akkarai Subbulakshmi, Sri. KV Prasad, Sri. Giridhar Uduppa and Sri. Alathur Rajaganesh.

Tani was a tad long but given that all the three played beautifully during their turns, I shouldn’t crib. The only problem was it ate up the time for RTP. Thodi ragam was taken up for RTP. Ragam was good and oh man Tanam sounds so good on chitravina

I honestly couldn’t infer the thalam but apparently this kind is done in Hindustani and the genius implemented on the Carnatic platform. I hope people who attended or know this concept explain it to me.

Liked the concert in parts. Thodi RTP was too short for an RTP and moreover one in Thodi. Also he seemed to fix the instrument a few times. SB was good! Liked his BGS concert better.

Did he do a pallavi in todi and where was Begada, Aanandha bhairavi and Behag done , in swaras as ragamaliga or was it neraval ragamaliga??

The concluding item was a sprightly Tillana in Kalyanavasantam (own composition) in Khanda chapu. RK stuck to timings true to Academy tradition and the concert was over at 9.16 pm!

Sri. Ravikiran’s innate musicality, razor-sharp mind, his command over music, the effortlessness of expression and freshness of musical and rtp patterns challenged minds... chapu tala rtp focusing on ardhi karvai was knitted by him
on stage .. apparently did not discuss with his accompanists. Special thanks to Akkarai Subbulakshmi. She was spot on sterday.. Sri. KV Prasad mridanga nadham, Giridhar Udapa’s ghatam sowkiyam and Alathur Sri. Rajaganesh subtle playing in Urmika wowed the listeners experience. Presence of great accompanists along with the legend brought the charisma and stole hearts of audience. Sharanagatham- ultimate surrender to music!
