One of the greatest musicians of today who has devoted her entire life to music. She has had rigorous training from Sri Musiri and Sri KSK and also many others vidwans/vidushis during her Music college courses and is one of the most sough after teachers. A very patient & committed teacher and her humility is something to be seen to believe

I particularly like her krti renditions. Indeed, after MS, she is my favourite source for krtis, especially if I try to learn a krti.

Swarams too flow beautifully from her. And of course neravals are her speciality too!

Her concerts are so good, I hope there is more discussion here.

Thank you for that article, it was fascinating. Quite different from anything I could ever have imagined.

It is quite old, though, and one thing seems to have changed... I see her "Her shipping company executive husband and his family were no more aficionados of Carnatic music than members of her natal family" husband very much present at almost every concert, and very much appreciative, not only of his wife's music, but her students too.

One of my best experiences in a live concert was in Cleveland 2013 when I attended a rather short concert of Smt Suguna Varadachari. It was a 1.5 hour concert.
This is what I had written on Apr 6 2013: "I had a great day in Cleveland. Listened to Suguna Mami's outstanding, memorable concert! This concert will stay with me for a long time. The dignity, the balance, everything about the concert was special - I hope there will be audio/video recording made available for us to cherish in the coming years. And, I must mention that Akkarai Subhalakshmi's music is sweet!
This was the first time I was hearing Suguna Mami and team in a live concert and how lucky I was to be there today!"

I have been big fan since hearing her music that day in Cleveland!
