"Happy Pongal to all rasikas.

First Annual Rasikapriya Award

It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Dr Shrikanth K Murthy on
being conferred the title Rasikapriya by the Sangeethapriya group.

It is clear from the nomination and all the supporting emails that
were written on his behalf, Dr Murthy has contributed tremendously to
spread the joys of Carnatic Music by his erudite explanations and
scholarly explanations as appropriate.

While his contributions as a composer and musician have been
recognized and will continue to be recognized and admired, this award
celebrates the affection shown him by the rasikas at large - a
Rasikapriya indeed.

We will be presenting a commemorative plaque and a small token gift
to Dr Shrikanth K Murthy shortly. We will also be starting a page on
our site dedicated to his compositions. Rasikas who have material for
this page - please contact me. (In the coming years, I hope our kitty
increases to make that gift really significant.)

Congratulations to Dr Murthy on all our behalf.

This is a matter of pride for all of us at this Forum. It is the encouragement from Rasikas like us that has brought to limelight the best in DRS. We should all be grateful to him for his continued sharing of his storehouse of knowledge and CM expertise through this Forum.

It feels great to see all your wishes and goodwill without which this would not have been possible. This came as a very pleasant surprise on the day of sankrAnti.

A diamond is but a mere piece of stone until it is picked up, recognized and admired for what is its worth. (There is a beautiful telugu verse saying this, which I cannot recall). Iam touched by all your steadfast support and affection. It is indeed an honour to be close to the heart of music-lovers and connoiseurs:- Rasikapriya. Thank you all.
