I followed with great interest reveiws of various artists during the just finished Dec 06 season. Some how, my favorite MSG sir's concerts have been conspicous by their absence. It could very well be due to the fact that he was not well and therefore did not play at all..

Any news on this front would be greatly appreciated....

thanks........Sam

Of course he played a concert for Kapali Fine Arts alongwith his Dauguter Narmada and J.Vaidyanathan on mridangam after Rajee Gopalakrishan's concert for which i accompanied. Unfortunately I could not listen to the concert as i was rushing for another concert. I could see that Sri MSG was being escorted by two men on either side as he couldnt walk may be due to the problem cited by member Ragjay. We all pray for his speedy recovery and be hale and healthy. Also i heard he came to Tyagaraja Vidwat samajam for the Pancharatna Kritis rendition on 8th January.

One of his disciples who has just returned from Chennai after attending the music festival told me that Sri MSG fell down while on a concert in Mumbai and fractured his hips. This is now taking time to heal. But with all the discomfort, he still played one concert sitting on a chair and having another chair where he kept his leg up and thus the violin. Ms Narmada accompanied her father as usual. Sri MSG was at his usual best, as I understand. My brother did confirm that Sri MSG attended the Tyagaraja Vidwat samajam for the Aaradhana as he had always done for years. May God, please please, make MSG sir ok and let him continue to immerse us in his music as only he can do.....Regards.......Sam
