Pluses of the concert

# Sangeetha Swaminathan brings an amazing focus on aesthetics . Her voice , her imagination always meets

# Lovely pallavi . The combo of nalinakanthi as major and bindumAlini as minor was well done. Thanks to her coartists especially mrudangam and ghatam artist who gave her more AIR time considering the concert is strictly boxed as 2 hours

# Like MLV and Sudha in both her best days , the transition of ragamaligas is very well done . I particularly liked her saramathi and vAsanthi, the ragamaliga sound arc is low beam short but still brimming with high beam melody.

# kalyani alapana and malahari swaras were really well done . I particularly like pancha matanga she brought in a bit of change of patterns bit like s kalyanaraman

# MR gopinath was really clean and brought in intense raga bhavam . Great shruthi in violin

# the tunesmith sangeetha swaminathan was really great . The choice of ragas with amrithavarshini (no rains gone past rainydays),revati and sindhubhairavi was very janaranjakam. Lalgudi revati thillana was a lovely close with pharas mangalam rare closure


Minuses of the concert

# When she sang kalyani , her pallavi start was at times sandehamu yAgarA or thyAgara , i thought the krithi is
sandehamu Elara. kalyani swaras were not creative she just did not impress me there


# Nice strokes by neyveli skanda , bit more power would have helped . His tani could have bit more patterns. H Sivaramakrishnan has reached a stewardship status with his upapakkavadhyam and I am not complaining.

This SKGS is the best hall for acoustics and seating . I had to be personally careful not to doze that too considering it was my third concert after sahana and VK Sivakumar . Thanks to her lovely pallavi that had right melody , words and musical intesect. I was thinking bit more s kalyanaraman please but that did not happen this time.

Overall a very good to excellent concert for 2 hours.

IIRC she sang the same dwi raga pallavi at the Academy some 4 or 5 years ago.
