This Meenakshi Seshadri is a disciple of Smt.chaarumathi Ramachandran and has a natural flair for singing. Unfortunately not getting recognized in the music field. Deserves more recognition and opportunities. very talented.

Balaji,

I'm not sure if we're talking abt the same person. Although it pains me to say this, the lady I heard yesterday does not deserve a slot anywhere. Rohan and Karthick had a tough time controlling their laughter on stage, particularly when an old gentleman came up to the stage and gave a 'chit', during the tani.

Meena, I'm not sure if the photo is that of the lady who sang yesterday. Maybe she is older now, so I unable to recognise the person in the picture?

Kalyani : I totally agree with your statements that she doesn't deserve any slots anywhere. ITS IS 100% True, but at the same time karthik and rohan are also in same boat in fact a sinking boat and they don’t have any standing to laugh or to do whatever. I don’t find anything astounding with them. I don’t know if you are a friend of them, if it is I am sorry to say this. I am going to be harsh. They have a pathetic knowledge either to play for songs or solo.

Durga: I don’t understand why you are frustrated with Kalyani’s statements. It’s so clear from your post that you are angry and incensed with kalyani. I am sure that he has not said anything wrong and he has written what is true. It looks like as if you want to thrash him if at all you people meet. Kalyani, I second you on your comments about Meenakshi seshadri, and durga it’s not worth to fight for her.

Moreover we are all are talking about the same person Meenakshi seshadri (student of smt.Charumathi ramachandran).

Mridhangam: natural flair for singing: talented: not getting recognized: more opportunities: There are 1000’s of people on the road just like meenakshi seshadri and all are below average.

The discussion about meenakshi seshadri is going good.
can anyone upload her music (not more than 2minutes) and let all our members hear?

the tactful dialogue to find who is kalyani seems childish.
congrats kalyani.....

I heard one vijayalakshmi from toronto which was horrible
She often referred to her books and I was shocked to see her in the cover of apoorva ragam, (she has also been conferred a title!)with an article claiming that she got doctorate from japan, runs a music school andd all that.

Last year I heard one ishwarya ragavan, who belongs to dkp school and felt for visiting india for season and hearing such conerts. Actually, I wanted to attend youngsters and encourage....

"ni ni sa... pa pa ni ni sa.... ma ma pa pa ni ni sa..."

She was just immitating the swaras nithyashree sang for the cine song....

But as developing and growing stars, Amrutha venkatesh, Vasuda ravi, Saketh raman, Bhaiavi - Malavi seem good....

Does anyone have any audio files of Smt. Seshadri? If she gives concerts in Chennai, she must be somewhat competent right?

i have heard her a few years back & she was good though not in the level of Sowmya / Jayashree. But over the years she seesm to have faded away.

It is certain that she is well informed musically, but the trouble lies in her trying to render unheard of krithis. Some time back she did sing at the 50 50 club and after the performance I had informed her hat she must sing more krithis of the Trinity to make the desirable impact on the musical field and then once she stabilises she can think of innovation . She chooses to do otherwise and hence seems to have faded into oblivion.

Durgaprasadji,
Congratulations on what appears to have been a wonderful concert! Can you write about your experiences: how did the idea occur, who was instrumental in getting the group together? Did you practice beforehand?

I think we are digressing from the topic here. Being moderator it is not proper here to start a different thread on Allam Durgaprasad. Pls continue with Meenakshi Seshadri if anything further to be said or close the topic. Open a new Thread on Allam garu. I would also like to contribute on Allam Garu's playing as he is both a good friend of mine and an excellent artiste.
Thanks
J.B
