I don't know if this thread has already been created, but any clarification?
Kambhoja is supposed to be a land above India, introduced during the Mahabharata, if I'm not wrong. Ideally, the raga name should come from this, right?
I have heard a lot (and I mean, A LOT) of people calling it Kambodhi. I call it Kambhoji, so I was quite surprised to see this word so much in vogue in this forum, and elsewhere.
Why are there two reasonably distinct names for the same, extremely popular raga?

Re: Kambhoji vs Kambodhi
Even the dhrupad kambhoji is called alternately as kambodhi. So it is not just a south only phenomenon
