A leisurely & meditative kharaharapriya alapana rendered by a strong & pliant voice bringing its myriad hues to the fore. This concert makes up for the somewhat abbreviated season 2018 for GV.

Paaramugam enaiyya adimayidam in Adi talam
I have heard it only once and this song did not appeal to me so much (DKP audio cassette on PS songs)- a bit depressing song I felt (even Thaaye Ezhai paal in same cassette is a bit soapy-weepy song) - but nice to see that Smt GV has elevated the song and presented it well. Papanasam Sivan compositions always shine.

I must have been getting hungry. Actually I remember entering it as you have written, but then edited the post again towards the end of the song to add the "thaan".

The concert continued.

Thani was also at Ethanayo piravi and Neyveli Narayanan played the phrase on his mrdangam as the theme for the thani. Sunil Kumar was on kanjira provided nice contrast.

Poonkuyil koovum was sung followed by a viruttam (Pullai pirandalum) in danyasi, shanmugapriya and neelambari. Kaanaamal veenile kaalam kazhithomey was presented after the viruttam.

Thonru nigazh (kavadi chindu) followed.
