There's a utility aspect to some AI pursuits, others less obvious or not at all.
The utility of a language translator is self-evident. An AI raga recognizer has less utility... perhaps a fraction of the total of few thousand comprising all CM listeners in the world may use such an app to one up each other in guessing the raga during alapana. So such an app is already bordering on the useless.
A computer composing/generating Carnatic music... meh.
We can speculate about an analogous situation in sports. If you can add a robotic dimension to all the AI, it is not inconceivable that you can create a perfect robot that can will all the Olympic events, beat all records. How would this enrich human life ?
And surely eventually AI can create the "perfect" painting. Same question...
Long ago, we already had the IBM chess playing computer which can beat grandmasters. Maybe this is a useful sparring tool for aspiring chess players. So there's a utility.
But this AI and "Indian Classical Music" seminar definitely looks quite unattractive
