Neyveli Narayanan - Mrudangam
Pramath Kiran - Morsing
A very plesant concert featuring the most delectable Kaapi I've been served in a while:
1) Mathe Malayadhwaja - Khamas - Adi - HMB
2) ?? - Kamalamanohari - Rupakam - Deekshitar (S)
3) Ee Vasudha - Sahana - Adi - Thyagaraja (RS)
4) Himadrisuthe Pahimam - Adi (3) - Syama Sastri (Rs)
5) ???? *
6) RTP - Kapi - Tisra Triputa, Sama Eduppu (Tani)
7) Manasa Sancharare - Syama - Adi - Sadashiv Brahmindar
* Probably Janya of Vanaspathi & Thyagaraja composition - 2.5 eduppu Adi Taalam . Pallavi went some thing like: RG,M,PD,DPMD, - help in identifying welcome.
Neyveli Narayanan (incidentally the brochure mentions the mrudangist as Parti Satish Kumar) impressed with some majestic nadais in the tani which was built around Chatusram and Tisram. Kiran on the morsing effectively kept up commendably except for a couple of occasions in the koraippu.
I hadn't listened to a veena concert for a while and that probably made the concert all the more enjoyable

Given the swaras Vijay mentions, it does not seem to match either aTukArAdani or aparAdhamulanOrva.drshrikaanth wrote:Is its aTukarAdani in manOranjani? manOranjani is the 5th asampUrNa mELa/janya of mAnavativijay wrote:* Probably Janya of Vanaspathi & Thyagaraja composition - 2.5 eduppu Adi Taalam . Or aparAdhamulanOrva in rasALi/vanALi?
I have heard kalashavArdhijAm (ratnAngi) only once or twice, but don't recall it well enough to see if there is any correlation. And of course, it does not have the sharp dhaivata Vijay indicates.
Does anyone have a recording of EmandunE (Srimani)?

Thanks DRS/Ramakriya/Lakshman - I have to acknowledge your scholarship for having recognized the kriti even though I have given incorrect info - it is Atukaradani in Manoranjani. The swaras I referred to (3rd pallavi line in the track above) should've been SR,M,PD,DPMDPD...N3 is also quite clear.
The mind did play tricks then! Thanks for your patience...
