11. Speech

What a concert. Start till speech it was enjoyable, didn't notice the time.

Mandari was beautiful

He sang each sangathi in Na Jeevadhara once, which were around 12-15, lost count at the end.
Wondering, how long MDR would have taken to sing all sangathis in his trademark style repeating each one 2/3 times.

Excellant bilahari

Begada was 2 phased, and grand.

Sounds like a lovely concert. Are these recorded and made available to rasikas from afar?
The pallavi looks like a creation of Sri RK Sriram Kumar, with the rAgamudra embedded (albeit with a d replacing the D of bEgaDA) :)

Interesting, Raman, Rudrapatnam bros and Sriram would normally have the same pATAntaram in my understanding--belonging to the same family. Then again, with DAsa, there are so many different versions of the same song. Also, he might have tuned it recently.

Some musician in the past has done a RTP in kedaragowlai , kedaram and gowlai. Name slips me right now. Would love to hear this in the future.

Superb concert. Arrived at the swarams of Manavinala - thanks to 90 minutes of bangalore traffic due to whitetopping of roads. It's a challenge to take an RTP in Begada, enjoyed a detailed Mandari. Na Jeevadhara with all its 14 Lalgudi Sangathis were nice, but am biased that this sounds best on the violin :) Was expecting a Tholi Janma or such :)
Ramkali, K/G/KG, Begada and Mandari made my trip well worth it.

Nit - Not a fan of taking Devi Brova from the anupallavi.

Post Speech which was short by RSM standards, there was a long honoring effort (Any officials reading this - please line up the sponsors ahead of time, and sponsors if reading this - save time by requesting it either to be anonymous or just a mention should suffice).

Kodanda Deeksha Gurum Aprameyam - Slokam (Sindubhairavi, Abheri) followed by Bhajare (Abheri)
Tillana (Behag) LGJ
Pavamana /Mangalam Kausalendraya

RKM is evolving into an allrounder and a traditionalist like the great KVN. His diction and a sense of proportion was superb.
Hopefully he maintains his trajectory and doesn't flatter to deceive.

My favourite musician. I'm sure a video of this will pop up on the internet somewhere!
