Anyone want to take this one? Also, a couple of things I noticed:
1) This appears to be in Sanskrit language which is consistent with most of Dikshitar's compositions that I have seen.
2) The rAgam is "nAgagAndhAri" which interestingly is also mentioned in the second line of the charanam. I remember reading about this aspect of some of Dikshitar's compositions in which the name of the rAgam is worked into the lyrics of the song - I believe there was a technical term for it but cannot recall what it was - can anyone help me with that?

regards,

HariKrishna

Except for a couple of (disputed) compositions in maNipravALam, all of Sri MD's compositions are in sanskRt. He embeds the rAga mudra in some of the kRtis. For instance, if he has composed more than one composition in the same rAga, not all of them have the rAga mudra.

thanks for this! This list is much better than the one I was previously using at http://www.medieval.org/music/world/car ... hitar.html. I like the fact that it has hyperlinks and diacritics. Anyway, I found the translation there also. Thanks again.
