Just one small correction.
या वीणा—वरदण्ड—मण्डित—करा
Is to be translated as
She whose hands are adorned with the beautiful fret-board-bar (danDa is the horizontal fretted playing part of the veena shaped like a bar) of the veena. This means Saraswati is holding the veena in her hands and it is adorning her hand beautifully.
Saraswati holds no boon-giving staff.
