It is the gaṇapati ṣōḍaśa nāma varna, "sumukhaikadanta." Dr Bhagyalekshmy's book credits it to one "kēśavānanta bhārati," however the brothers claim that it is a composition of their guru, Neyyatinkara Mohana Chandran.

rāga: sarasvati
tāḷa: ādi
vāggēyakāraka: Neyyatinkara Mohana Chandran/ kēśavānanda bhārati?

anupallavi

Question for the experts: If I understand correctly, bAla candra (iLam piRai in tamizh) = nascent or 'young' moon. I have heard it pronounced as phAla candra - is that also correct? (moon on the forehead)?
