Obviously I sang it in Kalyanavasantam taking the cue from your lyric. I have given a fresh try just using my imagination. Don't blame the mood since I was in it.
Yes, cmlover, the mood is somewhat sedate. Nevertheless a good attempt!

I am about to summon (being arasi, ha!) a truck to carry all the bouquets that you have tossed in my direction. My daughter, when she was little, used to say this: if you uv (read as love in mazhalai) me this much, I uv you this much (hands expanded), if you uv me this much, I uv you--and so on. Then ,she would stretch her hands to the maximum and say in a gasp: if you uv me THIS MUCH, I can't uv you any more!

If you give me SO MANY bouquets, I can't but summon a truck :)
Bouquets are sweet, but those which didn't make it are sweeter...:)

An old old film song: malligaip pU jAdi rOja, mullaip pUvu...

.
Reminds me of "Heard melodies are sweet but those unheard are sweeter"--
Ode to a Grecian urn
--John Keats (another great poet who hit the mortality gate at the young age of 25 or 26 but not before making his indelible mark in the minds of humanity at large)

Yes, I guess for every bouquet you got several others stayed back yearning to get to you. Enjoy the undelivered ones too!

mahakavi,
Yes, I borrowed from Keats. There were floral greetings from those who were in Chennai, and one from Charlie (aka Bean). I was speaking of the ones which didn't arrive--from three of my forum friends from the northern hemisphere. While it is the thought that counts, it also means we cannot trust that flowers ordered to be delivered in India are guaranteed to reach the recipient. All the love and money my friends invested in them...:(

Reminds me of the fascinating story in Mahabharata.

Once Arjuna in order to impress Krishna ordered a deluge of flowers and as he saw Krishna bedecked exclaimed what a wonderful treat he had given to the Lord. Sensing his pride, Krishna took Arjuna for a walk and as they were proceeding Arjuna observed cartloads of the finest flowers were being carried towards Krishna's residence. When the shamefaced Arjuna exclaimed in wonderment and asked about their origin a smiling Krishna explained that they were sent by Bhimasena through his 'maanasa pUjA'. Yes indeed it is the thought that counts!

More on Flowers !!
[quote]A politician was ordered into hospital to reduce his ponderous weight. While there he was put on a strict diet and some colleagues sent flowers to cheer him up.
The man replied with a note: “Thank you for the flowers. They were deliciousâ€

The rAgas in hUbEke are vijayanAgari, mAND, (hindUstAni) kApi.

Coolkarni- are you sure this is purandaradAsara dEvaranAma? His mudre does not figure in the song.

DRS
Thanks for that enchanting Shanmugapriya.

Now I hope you or Lakshman will hopefully post the complete lyric for this delightful song. Of course all those lovely flowers in this instance are dedicated to arasi :)

coolkarni

Nice to have posted the vandanadharini of the maestro. In this case I was thinking of GNB (sonnathai seidida (ragamalikai)) where he introduced the raga for the first time! Of course I cede to the expert judgement of DRS :)
