Let's do something new.

Good morning folks!

Here are three ideas on something new we can all do here. Just top of my head. You may pick anyone. Or suggest something else. There are experts amongst us on each of these topics

1. The ten best compositions of Sri. Papanasam Sivan. We list them (whoever lists first freezes it) and we all discuss them with music bites.

2. The Current Star Bani (how I wish I could abbreviate it as CSK ) Let's choose some of the current stars and if you feel anyone of them has a Bani, discuss it here with samples. We can do something that our predecessor rasikas did well. (They helped us understand GNB, MMI, SSI, ARI, LGJ, MSG, Mali, SB, Somu... Banis for example.)

3. Lecdem Treasure Trove. There are many great lecdems being shared and presented online these days. Why not share our appreciation and share links?

I just went to the V&V forum to look for his thread. It went in two directions. Piano rings my memory as regards, an old rabble that I roused! But we can certainly return back from digressions in there, to discuss Gurucharan and his music within the sampradayam. He is one artiste I followed sketchily as I missed couple of opportunities in hearing him in Dallas. An old 2016 concert has been re-streamed from Arkay. Catching up. I also remember an afternoon concert early 2000(s) in Cleveland. He sang SrI mAtrubhUtam.

Great you folks have started this discussion of Sri Sivan's compositions.

Every time I listen to his compositions, I feel he got so much right - Sahitya, sangita, laya, Raga swaroopa....

I once mentioned to Sri KVN how different and spectacular Sriranjani was in the hands of Sri. Sivan - Kaanavendamo. He gave a big smile and said, yes, what a great song it was.
