Re: need meaning for aarukkum aDangaadha neeli
She is some one who is not bound by anyone, She who is dancing in the Ponnambalam(Chidambaram) as Kali
She is the one who bound the Brahmam in the Long wide world, She who is not explained completely by the vedas
She is the one who made the Shiva Half as Ardha nareeswaran, She is the one who changed the face of hari to that of various animals,
She is the one who made the old Brahma of Five faces to Four faced Brahma,She is the one who saves me in Harikesanallur.....
Here the meaning is a little bit intense. Kali is seen as the Loka Maya. The Shivam is Jadam. There is no movement in the Shivam. She was inside the Shivam made the Shivam to understand Shiva's ability to start creation. So She is Limitless.......
The whole world is brahmam..... The converse of this is the anupallavi's first line. ParuL Parabrahmathai adakkiyaval..... because she made the brahmam to create the world as we know....... The Charanam is a little tidbits of Purana incidents.... I hope this clears up the meaning.
Manikandan.

pallavi
Arukkum aDangAda nIli ponnambalattADum kALi
kALi who dances (ADum) in the golden (pon) theater/assembly (ambalattil) [1] is a veritable she-devil (nIlI) [2] who has not yielded/submitted (aDangAda) to anyone (Arukkum) [3].
anupallavi
pAruL parabrammattai aDakkiya shAyaipaDum vEdangaLAlum ariyAda mAyai
(She is) an illusion (mAyai) (that is) beyond the understanding (aRiyAda) of even the vEdAs (vEdangaLAlum) that exist in (paDum) in the shadow (cAyai) of the entity that subdued/constrained (aDakkiya) the supreme being (parabrahmattai) in this world (pAruL) [4].

paramAnandanaip-pAdiyAi mATRinAL parandAman mukhamadil pal vilangETRinAL
siramad(u)aRu paDavE vinai tanait-tUTRinAL harikEshanagar vAzhum emmaik-kAppATRinAL
She altered/changed (mATRinAL) (the) supreme bliss into one-half (pAdiyAi) [5].
She created (ETRinAL) shackles (vilangu) across the face (mugamadil) of vishNu (parandAman) [6].
(When the) head (siramadu) (of the demon) was cut off (aRupaDavE), she scattered/dispersed (tUTRinAL) the consequences of our past deeds (vinai tanai) [7].
(And) she protected (kApATRinAL) us (emmai) who live (vAzhum) in the city of Harikesanallur (harikESanagar).
FOOTNOTES
[1] ponnambalam - the golden assembly/kanaka sabha = Chidambaram
[2] nIli is a play on words - nIlI also means the blue-hued one - so it is used to describe pAravti/kALi herself
[3] Even Siva could not subdue her - hence the word 'Arukkum'
[4] She subdues Siva himself
[5], [6], [7] would love to understand the concepts here

She made/created (ETRinAL) vishNu's (parandAman) face (mugamadil) to take the form of several (pal) animals (vilangu) [6].

[5] Not sure - could this mean the creation of ardhanAri?
[6] See the post from Sri PB above - refers to matsya through nRsimha avatAra specifically, but indicating all 10
[7] could this represent the tearing of Siva's head, her own head (as dEvi chinnamastA), or the head of a specific demon?
