I was hoping someone knowledgeable would post a review but given the sparse crowd there is a good chance that no one from this forum attended. It was a lovely concert where each piece was rendered in an unhurried fashion. Her voice was also in fine fettle and she had no problems moving into the higher octaves as well. Some of the songs she rendered were
1. NadaTanumAnisham-ChittaRanjani-Adi
2. ShankaramabhirAmi-Manohari(or KamalaManohari?)-Roopaka
3. RagaRatna-Reetigowla-Roopaka
4. A Devagandhari piece that I don't remember now
5. MArugelara-Jayantasri-Adi
6. Ninnuvinaga - PoorviKalyani-MisraChapu
7. Balagopala-Bhairavi-Adi
8. Hastivadanaya-navrOj-Misra Chapu
A few people in the audience seemed to identify the last item as Kurinji. Smt. Seeta Rajan explained that one is a Panchamantya raga and the other is a dhaivatantya raga. The concert's theme was the compositions of the Trinity. She did the alapanai's for Reetigowla and Bhairavi. A beautiful concert with no attempt to break any speed barriers! The accompanists were Sri M. Chandramouli on the violin and Sri. P. Satishkumar on the mridhangam. I have just started listening to CM and therefore apologies for all the technical errors in this post!
