Mysore Vasudevachar compositions on Trinity

Post by satyabalu »

Srimadadi Thyagaraja Guruvaram in Kalyani, Shri Ramachandra (a ragamalika) and two other ragamalikas in praise of Muthuswami Dikshitar and Shyama Sastri. Vasudevachar's compositions are thus like sugar candy which gives one instant pleasure and yet lingers on in the mind and heart long after."
I wish to have the lyrics with meaning and possibly link.

There was a livecast on SVBC year evening of Nadaneerajanam dedicated to Mysore Vasudevacharya's compositions. Sri Bangalore Shankar sang beautifully. Several compositions were presented. Sri Krishnamurthy was sitting on the stage. RaRa Rajivalochana we sung well after mohana alapana. Vittal Rangan plated mohana very well.

These are composed in the ancient prabandham style - think - no returning to the pallavi at all - the three are called caritramāḷikā delineating the various events in the composers' lives. vāsudēvāccārya has also composed one more piece on jayacāmarājēndra oḍeyār as well a stōtraṁ on the patron deity of the Mysore royal family - all these were pubished with notation in Tamil and published by kalākṣētra(don't recall the title).
ramā māmi (Smt. Rama Ravi) has rendered the one on MD sometime ago - don't remember when.
