Today is an auspicious day and has begun well.

I have decided to request all the wonderful rasikas here to help me curate a Youtube playlist of the best of kirtanas of the Haridasas. I am calling the playlist

My request to you is that you please post here a link to a Youtube upload of a Dasa Kirtana based on
1. Sahitya- lyric rendition quality - please rate on a scale of 5
2. Sangita - musicality - please rate on a scale of 5
3. Upadesha - spiritual import of the song - please rate on a scale of 5

I request Sri. Lakshman and Smt. Savitri to append in this discussion the relevant sahitya.
I shall make my observations on the spiritual content AFAIK.

Sachi,
This is delectable pAyasa by Mani Krishnaswamy. I now go back about two decades when it brought another robust wholehearted pAyasa in a small suburban Bengaluru temple where Srikantanavaru offered the same. As always, his dear wife in the audience savoring it with us added extra flavor to it.

I do hope young rasikAs don't get ticked off by nostalgia. In decades to come, memories such as these will
become their own musical experiences...

I saw your pics and some nice words about you in a book y'day!

Yes, nostalgia in our time is so much better than what it will be later

My problem is with new-fangled tunesmiths who want to replace Anandabhairavi with Shivaranjani,
Kalyani with Marwa, Kambhoji with Bhayankari etc. to show off at the expense of poor listeners. In such cases it seems these new singers are sounding a warning to the Haridasas, "I dare you!"
