I am posting this in the "general discussions" area as it straddles two topics -- Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar's compositions and learning Sanskrit.
With the surge in Sanskrit's popularity and preponderance of online classes, Sri MD's (and indeed others') compositions would be the perfect vehicle to learn Sanskrit. Is there a publication or online resource that has a word-by-word (ie Sanskrit to English) translation of Sri MD's compositions? Some authoritative publications are available (eg. those authored by Sri TK Govinda Rao) but they give a only general purport/commentary, and not a word-by-word meaning.

Like you, I too was searching for word-by-word meaning of MD kruthis. and what better site than https://guru-guha.blogspot.com/ ?

Amazing dedication and systematic work by veteran forumites @vgovindan and @Rajani .
Lyrics in devanagari script. English transliteration, gist in English and I think, Sri.V.Govindan is giving Thamizh translation also , for quite a few kruthis.

(Govindan Sir's site on Thyagaraja kruthis (nearly 660) at
http://thyagaraja-vaibhavam.blogspot.co ... -list.html
and for ShayamaSastry kruthis at
http://syamakrishnavaibhavam.blogspot.c ... ritis.html, are unique gems)
So is Rajani's contribution to both MD kruthis and those of Sadasiva BrammendraaL.--SANSKRIT.
WELCOME.
