Let us bring more vibrance that kind of dropped significantly with Covid for 2 years. I just thought many sabhas are not putting schedule as publishing in newspaper is also expensive . We once say about 20 or 22 years back had a lovely collation of all sabhas where TCS created a software site . Then some time much later our SureshVV did some work. This year I am not sure how to see one collated view sorted and slice date wise . At this point i will post what ever sabhas have their schedules publishes

Arkay Madhuradhwani in Mylapore - kind of chore epicenter sabha .Arkay Ramakrishnan is a seva power n patron, kind of doing as much as yesteryear stalwarts like ragasudha SVK, NGS Krishnaswamy, Safe Ramabadran and Nadopasana Srinivasan. Last few weeks i even attended some talk-lecdems by gurumoorthy about Cho, IsaiKavi Ramanan about Bharathiyar and few days back Sudha Seshayyan on Tirumoolar - tirumandiram. Madhuradhwani . 3.Bhavan Margazhi Mahotsav in BVB, Mylapore . Schedule is from 20th Nov, 2025 to 12th Dec,2025. Core epicentre sabha in mylapore with the most attention deficit audience.

Certainly some power teams on Christmas eve, Christmas day and the weekend following that, in MA.

Also see my senior Ashok Kalidas's son Rohit Ashok ( Mridangam), a Dallas area vAsi now( heard some local performances) getting a junior time slot .

4. Sree Krishna Gana Sabha
Certainly one great sabha for sure . THey have a 4pm Carnatic Concert followed by 7PM Bharatanatyam. During weekends they also have prime morning concerts in line with 4pm. Looks their strategic intent in last few years is to focus equally on dance ,as music has way too much competition. SKGS is from Dec 12th,2025 to Jan 03rd,2026

5. Bharath Kalachar
They have it from 14th Dec 2025 to 18th Jan 2026. Almost all day schedule from 10 AM to 7PM. Just not Carnatic and Bharathanatyam,liberal dose of musicians having connection and themes from MSV, Illayaraja, Dandapani Desigar. Little more events on Mohammed Rafi, harikatha , few dramas - almost quintessentially Madras Cultural fabric in all dimesionas is showcased here, they are dedicating this year to Mrs YGP 100

6. Aasthika SamAjam , Alwarpet
Nice sabha with very limited count of concerts . They call it as Thyagaraja Aradhana 2025 and they have it from 29th Nov to Dec 08th,2025 in Venus Colony, Alwarpet. No AC is a big boost atleast to me . i saw a vinyl poster in mylapore , yesterday near Luz. Historically Vidwan Karaikudi Mani had a big say is what i recollect . There are 04 30 and 06 30 slots , only putting the 06 30 slots with only main artist name.

There is this new sabha that came up in recent years . Sastra Satsangh they have it from Dec 16 to Jan 14th. I dont have facebook but i saw the listing there. This place being in vadapalani is just a hop from metro , certainly for that 15 kms radius towards west and south is a boon. Personally never been to the sabha , this sabha can be a good alternative to the out of radar CCA(NCA) .We dont yet know about Mudhra , hopefully they bounce back to live concerts

Chennaievent.com we can also view by sabha, artist, etc. It opens at today, so an easy way to see the current concerts.

Just returned from a trip to chennai (visiting in December after a very long time). Attended many concerts. The highlight was a Ramana Balachandar concert in the Sastra university main auditorium. Apparently they (Sastra) conduct their own December festival for a month starting from mid December (morning to evening) - all programs free to public - first come first served in their 400 seat auditorium. The auditorium had stadium style seating and the best views and sound system compared to even the ones in USA.

I have not been in Shastra auditorium. You say the sound is excellent too.

Veena seems to be enjoying some focus this year, it seems, played by seniors and youngsters. Good for us!

I don't know Shastra Auditorium either. There are several new(ish) venues. Only yesterday I heard of a new hall in TTK road itself, not far from NGS. A wedding venue but suitable for concerts also.

You are referring to Ethiraj Kalyana Mantapam which about a decade ago became the new venue for Indian Fine Arts (They used to hold their season's concerts at the German Hall). Unlike NGS, this building is not set back much from the thoroughfare.

In my growing up days, this was quite an elite wedding hall, next only to the then Abbottsbury??

No Arasi, I know that one. This is North of NGS, towards MA. Called something like Anadhan Mini Hall. Sorry, I expect I've scrambled the name.

Well, you are a true madrasi! My Chennai living was only in my growing up years.
However, this too rings a bell. There was this not mini, but miniscule hall (front room with a podium?) in the same vicinity, Years ago, since a budding youngster had invited us, we went there to listen to him. Considering that the young musicians come with family members, if more than a handful of rasikAs came, it won't contain them. I am sure that's not the place you are talking about.

It may be! But they must have knocked it down and built a moderate size marriage/convention hall.
