Bharatanatyam Arangetram by Natasha Rohila and Srishti Singhal: A Graceful Celebration of Dance and Devotion

New Delhi, April 12, 2026 – The timeless artistry of Bharatanatyam was on full display as disciples Natasha Rohila and Srishti Singhal of Nritya Vatika Dance School presented their Arangetram (solo debut performance) on Sunday, April 12, at the Triveni Kala Sangam Hall, Mandi House. The event marked a significant milestone in the young dancers’ journey, showcasing years of rigorous training and devotion to the classical form.

The evening commenced with an invocation, Pushpanjali, set to the melodious Kedaram raga. In keeping with tradition, the piece offered floral tributes and salutations to the Almighty, the guru, and the esteemed gathering, setting a reverent and auspicious tone for the performance.

The artistic excellence of the evening was steered by the precise and poised nattuvangam (rhythmic direction) of their revered guru, Smt. Devika Venkatasubramanian. Her command over the rhythm brought clarity and depth to every movement. The musical ensemble elevated the recital to a sublime experience: Sri Satish Venkatesh’s soulful vocals and expressive singing beautifully captured the nuances of each emotion; Sri Raghavendra Prasad’s violin added a distinctive, resonant charm; and Sri Manohar’s energetic mridangam playing enlivened the complex rhythmic patterns. The performance concluded on a high note with a vibrant Tillana in the Anandabhairavi raga, leaving the audience in raptures.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri K. V. K. Perumal, Founder-President of Delhi Kamban Kazhagam; Shri M. V. Thiagarajan, ‘Bal Shree’ and Managing Trustee of Thiruvarur T. S. Shriram Memorial; and noted Kathak exponent Shri Madan Solanki, among other art connoisseurs. The gathering of eminent personalities underscored the cultural significance of the occasion.

In her vote of thanks, Guru Harpreet Kaur expressed heartfelt gratitude to the musicians, guests, parents, and the audience for their unwavering support. The evening was seamlessly hosted by Aditi Negi and Khushi Mahajan.
