I dont have a physical collection of these stamps, if that's what you meant. These are the ones I have been able to find on the internet. I guess there must be more around, however I havent been able to locate their images on the internet.

Hi,

I came across this one very recently... thanks to one of our members here.

Contributed by Zahid Islam from Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

Islam had aquired this very attractive cover from a collector in Chicago, USA who was selling part of his collection in a club auction in 1992. It is a registered VP envelope from the Gramaphone Company Limited of Dum Dum (Calcutta) with a multi-colored label of the singer M S Subbulakshmi, dated May 6, 1940.

Rs.25 in 1940 should have been a lot of money then. Was that the cost of a 78 rpm then?

The stamps are great. One can weave the whole history of our music with the stamps as the reference points.
