Yes, another milestone and hopefully many more yet to come.

As we all know, the stated objective of the forum is mainly discussion and information sharing about music ( with contextual audio and video uploads ). The topics count and users count have been competing with each other for quite some time and currently Topics is in the lead. ;)

Not to belabor the point, but this a forum for discussion, and the clips are merely props. Many other fora exist for exchange of clips.

Perhaps ganapatisubramanya sivarAmakrishnan should cover the whole spectrum of Hindu pantheon of male gods. Such names for people have gone out of fashion these days.

Maybe cos half of them end up in foreign country where most phone calls to bank / utility company etc requires you to tell your surname. Imagine the poor lady / gent on the other end trying to spell sivarAmakrishnan!!!

One of my friends [Sivasankar Gopalanarayanan] here has spent abundant time going thro G for Golf etc etc ... in the end everyone is exhausted.

speaking of names, i cant for the life of me figure out the newfound penchant for south indians coming up with questionable ethnic/religious/cultural blackbox names like "vanisha, ishan, anoueshka, rithikaa, nikithaa"! Arjun, Adithya and Rohit also dont necessarily count for soth indian names...give me a subramanyam, or a krishna anyday :)! Time was when Subramanyam as opposed to Subramanian itself caused a ton of heckling...guess anything goes today.

Mixing numerology with it makes things even worse. Its strange have a name like "Anoueshka Shankar"...but I guess some people consider that Ravi Shankar's daughter has made it fashinable for even iyers and iyengars to take that name....

Hi ...am new to this forum...

Any reason why there are always more guests online than members, considering you cant participate unless you're registered...also why are so many of the users sort of semi-anonymous?... just and observation :)

Sub,
You are speaking of slang which doesen't bother me as much as the na Na exchange and the la La swop.

TV tamizh can be hazardous to your learning, Meena! For a general sense of 'hearing' the language, fine! To learn from it? adu aNukULamA? May be not. Take that one word anukUlam (advantageous). Pronounced the first way, it becomes atom (aNu)+ garbage (kULam)!
So, for the flow of the language, yes, it is of anukUlam, for pronounciation, NOT!

Nick,
You surely have something to say about it...

Another session of 'script writing' for the chinnath thirai, eh? Replete with vaTTAra vazhakku (regional language), chennai slang, the worst, and 'caste speak'. Very funny, and I hope people see it as such--in the manner of maDisAr and 'aDuththAththu amujaththaip pArththELA?'--all quaint and charming. I'm only thinking of those who do not zero in on to it and take it all literally!
So, ellOrum Or kulam, ellOrum Or inam, soap or the other stuff :)

CML & ksrimech hereby announce that they are founding a company which specializes in gathering, processing, and distributing (supposedly) cleansing (?) products obtained from cattle. They have purchased several ranches in Colorado. The two titans promise to personally involve themselves in producing quality product. They are issuing an IPO. Wall street is awaiting the issue anxiously. GOvardhan Inc., is the lead underwriter for the IPO but they don't know what the two titans are talking about. They are hopeful that the IPO will be sold out days before it comes to the market. Members of rasikas.org are promised by the two titans that they will get special allotment of shares. Members, please send your bids to CML or ksrimech soon. Don't be left out of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!

CML & ksrimech issued a news bulletin. They have NOT purchased any ranches in Colorado as per previous news clip. Actually they have contracted to do maintenance work in several ranches for a specified fee based on the number of heads at each ranch. There itself they are earning revenue. On top of that they are planning to sell their secret cleansing product at a premium price. What do you call this venture? GO for the GOld--what else?

sarvam GOmayam jagat!

At the annual shareholders' meeting, we will distribute a 3-volume series of Krishna GAnam by UttukkADu Venkata kavi to all the attendees along with a key chain in the shape of a cow. The cheering after the presentation of annual report will be "GO, GO, GO...". A huge cow model will decorate the stage. The refreshments will be a quart of milk per person arranged in cooperation with the American Dairy Council. Every attendee will get a coupon good for 10 gallons of milk (instead of the share dividend). The profit picture at every annual meeting is expected to show an exponential growth. We will be a Fortune 100 company in 5 years. That is the vision for "GO for GOld" Inc.

After 5 years we will spin off a biopharma subsidiary which will develop transgenic pharmaceuticals made in the milk. Eventually we will buy the state of Wisconsin.

Most importantly every product from our cows will be organic and high class. All our cows will be happy cows. :-)

We shall also record the happy moos of the cows and sell it as ring tones for cell phones.
