gOdhuli dhUsarita kOmala kuntlAgram
What a beautiful imagery?
The fine ends of the fine hair is smitten with the dust emanating from the feet of the cows.
Lifting gOvarDhana is a kEli. A playful act.
But then where from the prayasam come? Only for the play. Not for lifting it.
It should be bhajamaha
bhajAm aha seperately will not mean anything.
BhjAmaha is I am praising him.
I think that is the only correction needed.
Sorry for my ignorance. Where is this slOkam from?

Dear friends,
In the villages all the cattle are taken for grazing at dawn. They come back at dusk.
I dont think udayasndhya is referred as godhuli vela but the sayam sandhya is surely, poetically referrd as godhuli time. It is because the already dwindling light becomes much more dull because of the dust raised by the feet of the cows. The cowherds who invariably follow the cows get smitten by the dust.
One more point.
The cowherds will always be behind the cows. But, there would be no dust in the grazing grounds. Only when they walk back to the village, the dust on the path raises and covers them. So, it talks of time also.
Interestingly all of us are right!!

I checked my notes about gOdhULi and why it refers to the dusk, and not the time when the cows are taken out to graze, because in all possibility, the light at that time is equally dim - here is what I have written down:
When the cows are herded to graze in the forest, it is usually before dawn, and the ground is still wet with dew, and very little if any dust would rise from the ground, unlike the situation when they come back to the barn - as the hot sun bakes the ground, when they return, they raise dust to create gOdhULi.
