the raga Maund by Sri TRS....

Santhanam used to sing a great song "Neerajadala Nayana Hare Krishna" in Mand (composition of Mannargudi Sambasiva Bagavathar), very beautifully.

But after I heard this being sung by MVI, my vote goes to him. There is a certain raw musical appeal to how he sings it... it defies description.

MVI's temperament is something I like a lot... sings like there is not a care in the world.

Is the line that goes "ennennamO colli mayakkivaittAnaDi" in the rAgamALikA connadey ceidiDa sAgasamA in mAND or kannaDa? The sangati in the line suggests the latter.

The DKP and DKJ school made "rAmanai bajittAl" by Shivan quite a popular piece. Then there's the all-round famous "muraLIdhara gOpAla" of tUran.
