It means, 'when unhappy things happen, won't you pick up the yAzh (vINai) and play for me to make me happy?'. The best line in the song for me is "anbilA nenjil thamizhaip pADi nI allal nIkka mATTAyA?'.

These are the words that I hear from the song in the movie: I do not have the name of the movie, and the only song in MIO in the movie Oriravu is an MLV number. Anyway, MS Rajeswari and some guy called VJ Varma are the playback singers in the movie. My alltime favorite version is Sudha's in the CD bindumAlini.

This is not an MLV number. It was sung by Jayalakshmi (of the Radha Jayalakshmi fame). The dance for the song is by the one of the Travancore sisters Lalitha. As already mentioned the film is Or iravu, scripted by CNA.
