Sri K.N.Shashikiran & Sri P.Ganesh presented a very enjoyable concert. It was a thematic concert based on Lord Shiva & was held on the concluding day of Shankara Jayanti festival. The concert involved interesting quzzing by Sri Shashikiran which was greatly appreciated by the organizers as well as the rasikas.
The organizers mentioned that it was one of the longest & memorable concerts held at that venue.
The brothers displayed amazing energy & enthusiasm.Their voices complement each other. While Sri P. Ganesh sings amazingly in higher octaves,Sri Shashikiran lingers on beautifully in his lower octaves. This actually sounds very good & balances the flow.
The brothers started off well with the NAgaswarali song followed by a good rendition of Ee Vasudha.Their rendition of chitteswarams & kalpanaswarams was good. Violin was very good here.
Tanjavore Murugabhoopati & Nagai Sriram gave an outstanding support.
SadAchalEshwaram was rendered well.Sri Shashikiran's alapana in Boopalam was very moving.
The highlight of the concert was definitely the RTP.Sri Shashikiran's KIravAni alapana was elaborate & extremely soulful.
Sri P.Ganesh rendered kalpanaswarams in Revathi,Sri Shashikiran in Behaag & Nagai Sriram in Desh. All of them displayed their rich imagination.Nagai Sriram's support on the violin was brilliant.
The outstanding pieces were Ee Vasudha,RTP,Thunga Theera viharam & Bho Shambho.
The organizer's pick of the day was Bho Shambo & Sri P Ganesh's rendition in Revathi.
Their rendition of kalpanaswarams for most songs was commendable. Both of them challenge each other esp while rendering kalpanaswarams which brings out the best in them as well as in the accompanying artists.
They concluded the 4+ hour concert with Maithreem Bhajata to symbolize world peace.

or kaNamum? That is how Smt MSS sings it: manamE kaNamum maravAdE....

BTW, the second song (a lovely song in sahAnA) should be 'I vasudhA' (Eva Sudha sounds like Mrs Peron had an Indian friend)...I have my tongue firmly planted in my cheek - no hard feelings...

I would have suggested "Ee Vasudha" so that it would not read as the pronoun "I", but then rshankar might say that sounds like a fly named Vasudha :D (tongue in cheek). On another note, I believe it is Kovur and not Korur.

still cant control my laughter!
Thanks for all the corrections! yes it is "Ee Vasudha" in SahAna one of the 5 KovUr pancharatna kritis.
It is Kovur but was originally named GovUr.I believe KovUr is a place named after the famous cow KAmadhEnu. The temple diety being KovUr SundaramUrti.

More in jest:
E vasudhA would sound as if you are calling a woman by her name. I vasudhA is more like it.
Song 1. guruvaram (guru varum would sound like a keralite saying, guru will come)
song 5. Siva perumAn krupai vENDum

gOrUr is a vaiSNava kSEtra in karNaTaka somewhere near mElkOTE/mElakOTTai (tirunArAyaNapuram). May be this person mixed up both tamizh and kannaDa & Saivam and vaiSNavam. :D

:D
gorUru is in Hassan Dt. There is a dam in this place across the hEmAvati river. This is the birthplace of the famed comedy writer gorUru rAmaswAmi ayyangAr. It is not very close to mElukOTe.

gorUru is a small town on the banks of river hEmAvati in hAsana district of karnATaka ( about 22 km from hAsana ) - May be 80 km to the west-northwest of mElukOTe.

There is a yOgAnarasimha temple here. A dam is built across hemAvati, just below it's confluence with yagachi river.

You can see it's location in the map link below.

Thanks for correcting me. I have neither visited gOrUr nor had any idea of its exact location.. I have a high school friend who carries the place's name as surname. Since it was a vaiSnava kSEtra I had assumed it must be near mElkOtE. My aim was to only connect korur and gOrUr.
