Greetings respected friends
I recently recorded an album of Thevaram & have retuned some in commonly popular Carnatic ragas (hope i'm in the right place).
The entire cd is not as Carnatic as i would have prefered but rather of a more of a listenable nature to the uninitiated.
I am happy I went this route since people here, who would previously switch off at the mere mention of the word Carnatic....now are warming up to the sounds of Sahana & Kapi etc.
Thought I'd share one with you ... hope you enjoy it ... Let me know!

Interesting to listen Thevaram in Sahana. You mean to say that you tuned Thevarams in some of the CM ragas. As you know, few of others have already tuned this in some ragas. Ex. VaNanai in Keeravani. Secondly, is it commercial recording or u are ready to upload in this site ? Rarely heard Morsing in a private recording !!!.
Where do I find Thevaram in Tamil ?

grsastrigal,
Thanks for responding.
I am aware that few others have done the same in the past.
I tuned 4 of the 12 tracks. I must admit that there seemed to be some doubt as to whether it would be correct to do so, considering that these divine hymns were already & originally set to specific panns. However, most people here already render them in 'unoriginal' melodies.
The cd is my personal commercial release. Hopefully I will be able to take it to various parts of the world where it is required & will be appreciated appropriately. 'God willingly'!!
The Morsing artsiste (Sivanesan Pakiry) is quite a gems. He has the vision to colour the music in just the right quantity & has been able to create alot of emotion through the simplest rythimic paterns. Quite some quality to have.
