There is a very beatiful Hindustani song in Malkauns (Hindolam)- Man Tadapat Hari Darashan ko Aaj. I've looked for a long time for this one too. Does anyone have notation for that song too? Thanks all!!- Ammulu.

Hi Ammulu,
This is one of my favourites too. :)
I've written notation based on the video clip above. Here is the link:

What does 'dhIjO' mean? I hear it as dIjO, which means (please) give...
Another problem with transliteration programs is the 'z' sound - the j with a dot under - nazar, instead of najar. The closest I have come to it is to use na.jara in Arun's transliteration scheme.

Ravi,
Rafi sings it as najara only...colloquial way I guess

I too do not know whether to use dIjO or dhIjO. In my dictionary the former word is not available and we cannot ascribe the root word dI = give, to this. The latter means "to recognise". The language is similar to Bhojpuri and is not typical Hindi. If there is any Hindi Pundit among our members, he/she may elucidate.

I tried my best to transliterate letters with a dot under them using Arun's editor but I am unable to do that. Arun may help.

I agree with Vijay. Really an excellent analysis. This shows that we should not take the lyrics on the face value unless we see the original work. Pl keep it up.

Though it is a mistaken identity, I mean you only and it is an equally important contribution you have made. One need to understand and sing also correctly.

'dIjo' is the poetic version of 'deejiyo' which is the colloquial way of saying it.
