AdhAram unai allAl - without (allAl) you (unai) as the basis (AdhAram) of our existence
Aremakku pArinilE - who else (yAr) is there for us (emakku) in this world (pArinilE)
EdAy(g)inum vazhi - a path (vazhi) one way or another (EdAy(g)inum)
nI sholvAi - you (nI) will tell us (sholvAi)

maNi vakku udaviDuvAL - will provide/help us (udaviDuvAL) to produce beautiful speech (maNi vAkku - precious, precise speech)
ANi muttaipOle - like (pOle) beautiful pearls (ANi muttu)
aRivu muttu - the pearls (muttu) of wisdom (aRivu)
mAliayinAL - (one who wears) a garland (mAlaiyinAL)
kANuginra kATSiyAi - the visions (kATSi) we see (kANuginra)

In the second caraNam the poet addresses the divine mother in her form as saraswati, kalaimagAL, the goddess of the arts. He refers to her as the lady who wears a garland composed of pearls of wisdom. She is responsible for showing us our visions (knowledge to translate our thoughts into actions). Let us collect around her feet and gain her blessings and knowledge from her.
