It was nice to hear that a man called Ram Prasad, who has a great passion towards music, inspired a lot by late shri svk mama [rAga sudhA], revived the activities regarding concerts and running a sabha along with the support of some music lovers in kalpakkam town ship area.
Mohan Santhanam[disciple of Vidwan T.R.S.], presented a fine concert and made the evening very pleasant.
The venue was a vinAyakar temple providing calm and lovely atmosphere which is appropriate for music.

Mohan Santhanam sang an energetic shankarAbharaNam and the audience enjoyed his brief explanations about the greatness of dIkshithar and how he has used the letter “ksha”
In the krithi akshaya linga vibhO… He did some interesting varieties of swara patterns in misra chApu and reminded the style and timbre of Shri T.R.S .
He also explained the meaning of dhuduku gala. The way he conveyed the emotions through his voice took the listener’s appreciation to a significant level. It’s always good to see the rasikas be part of the concert and Mohan Santhanam really succeeded in driving home the purpose.
S.P.Anantha Padmanabha was on the violin and I played the mrudangam.
