Ck out

www.swaralahari.org

On saturdays at 8.30 Am PST one can watch the concerts online. So far I watched Hemmige Srivatsan's CM violin concert and Gayathri Kaundinya's HM concert. The schedule is also on the website.

while the concert is very short ( 30 mins) something is better than nothing and that too from the comfort of your home...

PS: I got nothing to do with the organisation etc.. I happened to come across the information through a mailing list and thought some folks here may be interested.

Today's concert featured Smt.Anuradha Sridhar on the violin accompanied by her brother sri. Sriram brahmanandam

She began the concert with
Anandamruthavarshini - Amruthavarshini - Dikshitar's composition.
Then followed a very nice alapana in Madhyamavathi followed by
Deva SritapasthIrthapuranivasa - a composition of Thyagaraja in Mishra chapu. Swarams followed for a brief time. Given that the concert duration was 30 minutes every item was condensed. ( Was like reading one of those readers Digest condensed books ..)
Smt.Sridhar finished off with Anthakana Dhutharige kinchithu dayavilla in Bageshri a composition of Purandaradasa.

Next week features one of Smt.Sridhar's students.

sridevi:
Is the timeframe fixed at 8:30 --9:00 AM Pacific time? It is 5:30 AM in the east coast and we are still in bed. Is there an alternate time we can listen to it or are the concerts archived somewhere to be recalled later?

8:30-9 A.M. pacific would translate to 11:30 A.M. to Noon eastern, wouldn't it? But your question is valid.. I have not found an archive for these program at that site yet.

Oh, yes. East is ahead!
Sat morning is tennis for me from 10 AM to 12 noon or beyond. Either way it would be nice if the program is available under some archives.
