Can anyone tell me what exactly Akara , ukara and Makara mean? I know it represents AUM, or OM, A-akara, U-ukara and M-makara. But what form is Akara,Ukara and Makara?

Could someone please email me the notation for this varnam....

Charanam - Sive Sive Sive seems to be on Khanda Ekam..
Is there some Jaati bhedam in the Chitta swaras.. The talam does not seem to end on samam for each chittaswaram.

Please help

The words SivE SiveE SivE are very much in chaturasram. When you hear him sing, it sounds like khandam but try to split the words like this:

Si vE . Si - vE . Si vE - . . vE . - . vE . la | va rA . la - rA . Si vE | . . mo rA - . lin . chu ||

Also, the chittaswaras do come back to eduppu. Listen to BMK's version on musicindiaonline.com.

dear rasikas,

yesterday, there was a mrdanga arangetram in Melbourne, in which Kashyap Mahesh sang this as the opening item. it was just so good! by the way, for those who don't know him, Mahesh anna is a very down to earth 17 year old vocalist who sounds like a very experienced bhagavathar. he has now performed over a thousand concerts in India and abroad. he usually performs with sri v. Suresh Babu, and Mallaikottai sri RM Deendayalu who are also very gentle and friendly people. Mahesh anna's a very inspiring artist. below is Mahesh anna's website:

Mr.Lakshman,

If you happen to have the notation for Balamurali's Gambhira Nattai varnam -"Amma aananda Dhayaini", could you please send it to me. I got the lyrics from an earlier post. Thanks.
