When practicing Janti Varasais, should sphuritam be used only in the notes of the scale or can the finger simply be lifted on the second note to imply the note of the previous fret? Does this make sense? If the first method is applied, then on far note intervals, would the first finger be slid up rapidly or should two fingers be used to skip the frets?
I've been taught two different methods by two teachers (one more experienced but on a different instrument) and I need to know how to do this properly but also be respectful to both teachers.
