I found the lyrics myself. Lakshman-ji's provided them elsewhere on the web.

Chalanata,

I have made the mudra bold in the lyric. Yes its in gambhIranAtta. But why do you say it's like a war song? I've heard it too but never thought of it that way. Too aggressive?

RK,
gambeeranattai is very aggressive in my psyche. this raga in my perception is suitable for a march past. the song also is similar to 'swasthisri' which the guards recite when the king enters. it is called 'meikirthi' in Tamil. the 'meikirthi' in olden days is announced before the start of the war too.

i forgot another thing. this raga is most suited for 'mallari' when swami purappadu takes place.

chalanata,
swAmi puRappADu goes with a 'gambhIra' nATai. It has a dramatic impact too, in order to announce the start of the event...
