Smt. Gayathri Girish gave a wonderful performance on 22nd September. i was in chennai and had the opportunity to attend this concert.

Yes, it was indeed a very good concert, Priya. I'll start with a small grouse that the length of the concert was a tad short but Gayathri made excellent use of the time available, to present a brilliant Kalyani alapana- (a sruthi bhedam in Dhanyasi during descent drawing a lot of appreciation). I was also paricularly impressed with the Kumudakriya krithi- Ardhanareeshwaram, sung with a lot of feeling and also have to conragulate her for having sung her trade mark slokam at the head of the concert in the navaraga pattern starting with Sri and ending with Kedaram before she embarked on the navaraga varnam. Keep up the good work Gayathri!
