Guess i am writing here after a long time...But i believe me rasikas.org is a part of my life now...Anyways attended Priya Sisters concert yesterday at Shanmukhananda, Mumbai
I dont know the name of the Mridnagist but they were accompanied by MA krishnaswamy on the violin and Adambakkam Murali on the Ghatam. I was a little late for the concert missing the varnam.

2. Mampala-Couldnt identify the ragam-Tyagaraja

5. Emi Jesite-Thodi-Misra Chapu-Tyagraja(R,N,S)
6.Edhaya Gati-Chala Nattai-Adi-Koteeswara Iyer
7. RTP-hemavathi- Ragamalika in Madhyamavati, Kalavati and Revati.-Kanta Jathi Triputa Thalam
8. Aiye Medha Gadinum-Ragamalika

A very mediocre concert. They were performing here after a long time, thus was expecting some good stuff..But was dissappointed. Hemavathi was the only piece that was renendered well. Thodi was not handled well. They didnt do justice to this wonderful raga that can be easily rendered for at least 20 mins in a four hour concert (considering the fact artists when they come down to mumbai give a 3 1/2 - 4 hr concert )with both Shanmukhapriya and Haripriya struggling. I noted that both of them were not well and suffered from soar throat and bad cold. They really struggled while singing the kalpana swarams especially the elder of the two. MA Krishnaswamy was very sober. Mridangist played well only in patches. Hope they perform well next time....

Sir, was the kalAvati from the RTP Dikshitar's version, as in yAgapriyA, or kalAvatI as in ennaDu and okapAri of Thayagaraja?
