krishNa candra is a description of kAlIya nartan - krishnaa can you have a go at making sure the words are correct? It is such a beautiful composition. The questionable ones for me are:
c1: kaTikachAni
c1: par - I think that should be sar
c2: AnchadhOvEn
c3: shAyi

Ravi,

kaTi means waist and kAchani (not kachAni) is a piece of cloth. Cowherd men in North India always tie a small piece of cloth around their waist and it is known as kaTikAchani.

It could be par or sar. par means on top and sar means head. so the meaning could be, "You dance on the kAliya" or "You dance on the head of kAliya"
but i also think it should be sar. It fits much better in the line beacuse of the word 'ke' which means 'of'

i don't know what is the meaning of AnchadhOvEn. Ancha means radiance that burns...

shAyi means one who lies on. In this line Swathi Tirunal is reffering to Ananta Shesha. phaNi par shAyi meaning one who lies on a snake. (maybe when he was composing he was mazed at the fact that the same Lord uses a snake as his bed in one scene, subdues a sanke in another scene

)

i hope that hepls. the rest of the words are correct. if you want the word to word meaning i can give it too.

yes, it is a very beautiful compoaition. i like most of the compositions of Swathi Tirunal. Please let me know of any specific audio releases.

Tell me if this makes sense:
The import of c3 is that when the nAgpatnIs (nAgvadhU - brides of kalIya) realize that krishNa could kill their husband, they plead for his life and request (binati) him to let their lord (hamArE prItam kO/kU) go (chODO) so that they can dry their tears (Ankh dhOvEn)?

phaNivar sir par = on the head of kalIya...
Ancal dhOvEn asuvan sE = (the nAg vadhU) say that they will wash their pallUs with their tears (metaphor for wiping their tears)
prabhu phaNi par Sayik = the lord who is reclining on a snake

Yes Ravi what you translated made perfect sense, with an exeption to the last words which were clarified by the correct words given by Meena.

it was the words in the kriti that were wrong otherwise your translation was exellent.
