I listened to the song "raminchuvArevarurA" of thyAgarAja in rAga supOshini ( 28th mELa, harikAmbhodi janyam) rendedered by rAjkumAr bArathi. It sounds very much like one of MD's " nottuswaras" , most of which are in rAga sankarAbbarNam. We do know that, in composing these nottuswaras, MD was influenced by listening to the English band in Ft. St george, in the early days of British rule.
This is the only composition that I have come across in this rAga. Are there other compositions in this rAga, supOshini ?

On a similar note, even varalIla gAna lOla and sArasanEtra of tyAgarAja are very *note swara* ish :), if I can call them so!

Apart from Tyagaraja's, here are the others in supOSiNi:

Ganapati-Bangalore S.Mukund
Hara hara shiva hari hari-Rupaka-Shuddhananda Bharati

Chittibabu has rendered Tyagaraja's shara shara sharmaraika, kuntalavarALi like a military marching song on one of his early LPs.
