I am curious to know where you heard about this song.
Though it is listed on medieval.org and in my database I cannot find any reference to it anywhere.

Lakshman: TNS sang this on 23rd at Bangalore Gyana Samaja. The alapana , niraval and swara elaboration (intricately indicating Mohana and kalyani) were excellent. The sahitya ended as para vasudeva , parameswaram , nirantaram .

Yes, it was an excellent rendition. Neraval was at " paramabhakta prahLAda paramAnandakara "..

The event was organised by M A Narasimhachar Music Foundation and my take is that he rendered this krithi to mark respect to the yesteryear musician..

What a lovely piece in praise of the most extraordinary and merciful form of Srimannarayan!
i have a small doubt:

paramAdbhuta rUpadharaM karuNakaraM ahaM sura kinnara bhUsurAdi ripu hiraNyakaShipuvaraM

what is the meaning of hiraNyakaSHipuvaraM? i know it is supposed to mean one who killed hiranyakashipu but i dont understand the word varaM.... in sanskrit it does not exactly mean "one who killed"
Can someone please help...

Thanks kmrasika. The recital of TNS as I had quickly jotted, has the following changes.

1. santhosa instead of sandoha
2. karunakaram harim instaed of karukaram aham
3. Shipu haram instead of Shipu varam.

This also clears krishna's doubts. Hope this is valid.

Well, mine was a jotted version as well that I found coincidentally duirng the request. Your changes are okay, save for item# 2. I think karuNAkaraM hariM (merciful hari) would be more sensible. Also, it culd be hiraNyakaShipuhataM or haraM as you've pointed out.

This must be one of vAsudEvacAryA's 24 kIrtana series on the 24 names of vishNu(kEShavAdi caturviMshatinAma kIrtanamAlA).
